We want to give a shout out to NPS teachers and staff 

who volunteered to assist with Kindergarten Screening this week.  

We could not pull off this district-wide event 

without our amazing volunteers.  

We appreciate all you do to support NPS and Nixa students.

Common Core Math - Dr. Nicki Newton is coming to Nixa!

You've heard us say her name at least a million times and we are about to split our seams with this announcement!

DR. NICKI NEWTON IS COMING TO NIXA!!!

Monday, June 29th, Dr. Nicki Newton will be presenting an all day Common Core Math and Guided Math Workshop for Nixa teachers.  To attend, all you need to do is register to attend the PD day by clicking here.  Please register BEFORE April 15th.  Exact time and location are TBA.

But, WAIT...there's MORE! :)

Teachers who register to attend Dr. Nicki's workshop will also receive: 

• Choice of Dr. Nicki's "Guided Math in Action" text OR Dr. Nicki's "Problem Solving With Math Models" text   
• $75 to spend on math manipulatives from IPA

MAP - Online Testing Video Tutorials for Students

Prepare your students for the online tools they will be expected to use on the MAP test by going through the video tutorials available from DESE.  

These videos walk students through:

• Signing In
• Testing Basics (features to help students navigate through the test)
• Testing Tools (how to use the testing tools available)
• Advanced Tools (includes information about different types of questions students will see)
• Basic Calculator (for Grade 6 test)
• Text-to-Speech (only available through accommodations)
• Using Help (how to use the help tool)
• Finishing the Test (what you need to do to finish the test)
